Steak au Poivre Try out this new tempting steak recipe this weekend for a delicious meal. Steak au Poivre is an easy to prepare steak recipe that even new cooks can prepare.

Ingredients:

4beef tenderloin steaks or 2 beef top loin steaks, cut 1 inch thick (1 pound)

1tbsp cracked black pepper

4 tbsp butter

2 tsp Dijon style mustard

1/2  cup whipping cream

1/4  cup brandy or beef broth

1/4  cup beef broth

Method:

To make Steak au Poivre, you need to first press on both the sides of the steaks using your fingers. Then, cut the steaks in half crosswise. Now, take a large skillet and cook the steaks in it using hot butter over medium heat. Just turn the steaks once while cooking. Let it cook on medium heat for 12 to 15 minutes.

Then, transfer the steaks on a serving platter and keep aside the warm drippings in the skillet. Now, prepare the sauce and combine the brandy and beef broth. After this, stir into drippings in the skillet. Then, stir in whipping cream and mustard in the dripping reserved in the skillet. Now, bring the mixture to a boil and heat for about 5 minutes.

The sauce is prepared now. So, spoon this sauce over steaks before serving. The ingredients mentioned here are enough to serve 4 people at a time.
