sherry

Seafood when feasted upon with a fine drink like sherry becomes truly a pleasure. This Spanish drink is produced in Southwestern part of the country just like wine production. Bearing a sweet snifter taste, sherry drink is also made of grapes with fairly acidic taste. For making sherry, grape juice is fermented and left to mature in large vats.

Certain special sherry drinks like Amontillado and Manzanilla are made of a special yeast called flor that is allowed to grow on the surface, and it prevents the liquid from reacting with the air. Other sherry drinks like, Oloroso is produced with exposure to air. In short, different sherry drinks are made in different ways.

There are different types of sherry drinks, like Fino, which is a dry and pale-colored sherry. It is good to be sipped while snacking on cured meats and tapas. Then, there is Manzanilla, a slight variation of Fino sherry, as it is bit light and has a salty taste. Amontillado is a dark and dry sherry for those who like old sherry.

Best sherry in the world is produced by Gonzales Byass, this firm is known to produce the famous Tio Pepe Fino, Olorosos and Manzanillas. Apart from this, sherry produced by Gutierrez Colosia is also famous in UK. In Spain, sherry made by Osbournes and Sandeman is considered the best.
