800px-Refreshing_palm_wine Also known as, Palm Toddy, the great Palm Wine is an exotic alcoholic beverage that is created from the sap of various species of palm tree like palmyra and coconut palms. In Malayalam, Palm Wine is called Kallu. This drink is mostly drunk in various parts of Asia andAfrica.

Palm wine is served as either neera or padaneer in India. The drink tastes like vinegar and is commonly available at toddy shops. This drink is collected and distributed after which it is sold by the people of a particular caste called Goud in Andhra Pradesh. There are basically two types of palm wines, like Thadi Kallu and Eetha Kallu.

Like other wines, this one is also made from grapes but the ones that have frozen on the vine. The basic formula is that after freezing as ice, these grapes yield a heavy concentration of sweetness and acidity.

Also known as, Eiswein, German Ice Wine was first produced in Germany in 1794 when a vineyard owner left his grapes on the vine for a long time accidentally. When the staff decides to process these grapes, they found them turning into eiswein or winter wine. This wine is produced only in winters.
